On August 13, Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Public Education, signed an agreement with Miyazaki Suguru, Head of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Office in Uzbekistan, worth 100 million yen. On the basis of this grant agreement, the knowledge of 14,000 8th-10th grade students in mathematics will be tested throughout the country for 2 years. The tests are conducted by KEI Advanced, the only state-run organization in Japan.
“Currently, the Japanese experience is being implemented with a number of other organizations in the field of education and is being brought to Uzbekistan. The results, in turn, will lead to the elimination of shortcomings in the field and raise the quality of education to a new level, - said the Minister of Public Education Sherzod Shermatov.
As the organization's test practice is in line with international test standards, on the basis of the signed agreement, a system of testing students' knowledge in accordance with international educational standards will be introduced in secondary schools of the country. An important aspect of the grant agreement is that KEI Advanced not only conducts tests, but also develops and implements individual programs aimed at improving the knowledge of each student based on the results. This is a clear goal of testing students' knowledge - it reveals shortcomings in the learning process and helps to overcome them.
The two main organizations implementing the project are A. A permanent working group consisting of experts from the Avloni Research Institute for the Study of Problems and Prospects of Public Education and KEI Advanced is working together at the Avloni Research Institute. Local experts constantly monitor the compliance of Japanese practice with the national educational standards of Uzbekistan. The working group will further adapt and implement the education system to world standards.
