AWARD CEREMONY FOR GRANTING THE STATUS OF "MODERN SCHOOL" TO SECONDARY SCHOOLS

In order to ensure the implementation of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 26, 2019 No PQ-4537 "On measures to establish modern schools" with the involvement of experts from Ofsted and the World Bank in cooperation with the State Inspectorate for Education Quality Control The requirements, evaluation procedure and evaluation methodology were developed and approved.

Evaluation of "modern schools" was carried out in 11 areas, 38 criteria and 150 indicators in the following 4 main areas:

- The process of education and upbringing (30% of the total score);

- Management of the secondary school (20% of the total score);

- Provision of qualified specialists (20% of the total score);

- Material and technical base and infrastructure (30% of the total score);

As an experiment, 42 schools (3 from each region) were assessed on the basis of the requirements for "Modern School".

As a result, out of these 42 schools, 8 (19%) schools received the status of “Modern School”, and 34 (81%) did not fully meet the criteria of “Modern School”.

The schools that have achieved the status of "modern school" and their results are as follows:

- 1 school - the status of "Modern school" of the 2nd degree;

- 7 schools - "Modern school" level 3.

As a result of the assessment, recommendations will be made to each school to improve performance on 38 criteria, and targeted measures will be identified to bring it to the level of "Modern School".

By the end of the year, it is planned to evaluate 750 secondary schools across the country on the basis of "Modern School" criteria.
