On May 3, the Ministry of Public Education hosted a meeting with Mark Reese, an American scientist, holder of the Order of Friendship, Khandamir Qodiri, grandson of Abdullah Qodiri, and Usmon Sharifkhodjaev, First Deputy Minister.
During the meeting, the American guest was briefed on the ongoing reforms in general secondary education in Uzbekistan.
Mark Edward Reese recalled with special excitement that he worked in Uzbekistan from 1994 to 1996, during which time he spent most of his time in Fergana, working as a specialist at the school.
He has been working for more than 15 years on the translation of Abdullah Qadiri's "Last Days" into English. The first presentation of the book took place in December 2019 at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington. Mark Reese hopes that the English translation of this work will help Uzbek students learn English.
