TOPICAL ISSUES RELATED TO THE MAINTENANCE OF REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH OF MINORS WERE DISCUSSED

On March 31, 2021, the Committees of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Science, Education and Health, Youth, Culture and Sports and Women and Gender Equality held a round table on "Current issues of reproductive health of minors."

It was attended by the Ministries of Public Education, Health, Community and Family Support, Higher and Secondary Special Education, Preschool Education, the Agency for Youth Affairs, the World Health Organization, the United Nations Children's Fund - UNICEF and others.

The First Deputy Minister of Public Education Usmon Sharifkhodjaev said that today in grades 1-4 of secondary schools "Health Lessons" course on the world around us, natural sciences, physical education, in grades 5-8 "Fundamentals of a Healthy Generation", 9-11- He noted that the courses "Healthy Lifestyle" are taught in the field of biology, technology, physical education, and in grades 9-10 in the field of biology, reproductive health, physiology of adolescents. In addition, starting from the 2020-2021 academic year, the subject "Education" was introduced in grades 1-11, and topics aimed at increasing reproductive health literacy were included.
It was also noted that the Ministry of Public Education, community and family support, as well as the Ministry of Health, the Agency for Youth Affairs and the United Nations Children's Fund - UNICEF and other agencies are working to promote reproductive health of minors.

It was noted at the roundtable that in addition to the work done, there are problems in the field that need to be addressed.

In particular, there is a lack of advocacy and awareness-raising among young people on the formation of a healthy family, strengthening the reproductive health of adolescents, especially adolescent girls, together with medical and educational institutions, community gatherings, the media.

In addition, the senators noted that the study of reproductive health and adolescent physiology in secondary schools was not conducted in accordance with the programs approved by the Ministry of Public Education. was noted.

Based on the analysis of the mentioned problems and shortcomings, the participants of the roundtable developed appropriate proposals and recommendations on the protection of reproductive health of minors, the inclusion of appropriate training loads on reproductive health and physiology of adolescents in the curriculum of educational institutions.
