OVER 10,000 THOUSAND CHILDREN IN NEED OF SOCIAL PROTECTION WILL BE INCLUDED IN INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S PROTECTION DAY

June 1 - International Children's Day It has become a tradition to pay special attention to children with disabilities and children deprived of parental care, as well as all children throughout the country.

In connection with this holiday, from 31 May to 1 June this year, the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent are organizing various festive events by ministries and departments, which are planned to cover more than 10,000 children in need of social protection.

Today, 21,685 children with mental and physical disabilities study in 86 specialized schools and boarding schools for children with disabilities in the country. In addition, 14,059 students who did not have access to education in schools and boarding schools due to their disabilities were involved in home education.

In accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to further improve the system of education for children with special educational needs" from the 2021-2022 academic year, an inclusive education system was introduced on a pilot basis in 43 inclusive classes organized in 31 schools. Eighty-five children are being educated, no less than their peers. In addition, 650 people are brought up in 6 orphanages, 3 SOS children's mahallas, and 770 orphans and children deprived of parental care in 121 family orphanages.
