Today, Minister of Public Education Sherzod Shermatov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Uzbekistan Jiang Yan.
The current state and prospects of cooperation between the two countries were discussed at the meeting, which was held via Zoom.
It should be noted that to date, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People's Republic of China have implemented investment projects and activities aimed at improving and modernizing the material and technical base of secondary schools in the field of public education. In particular, at the expense of Chinese grants, schools in Uzbekistan will be equipped with modern computer classrooms, and in the second phase of the project, it is planned to bring an additional 1,300 computer classrooms to our country.
The two sides noted that at a time when trade and economic relations with China are developing, the study of the Chinese language in Uzbekistan, the expansion of opportunities for our graduates to study in Chinese universities is not growing, and cooperation in this area should be further expanded.
During the talks between the Ambassador and the Minister, the sides discussed issues of expanding cooperation in promoting the Chinese language in Uzbekistan, establishing exchanges between the two countries through contacts with the Chinese Ministry of Education, increasing quotas for Uzbek students in Chinese universities.
