Tashkent International University of Education and the University of Portsmouth Higher Education (UK) plan to develop cooperation in the field of higher education.

Rector of Tashkent International University of Education Sarvar Babakhodjaev and Vice-Rector of the University of Portsmouth Higher Education Corporation Chris Chang signed a Memorandum of Understanding on July 27 with the support of the Ministry of Public Education and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United Kingdom. The signing ceremony was held in the format of a video conference.

Within the framework of the memorandum, the parties agreed to jointly develop training programs for teachers in the field of pedagogy, including STEAM, Information Technology, Business Administration, as well as to develop programs for teacher training and retraining.

The University of Portsmouth has expressed particular interest in facilitating student exchanges between educational institutions in the future. Educational institutions also plan to exchange professors. One of the areas of cooperation will be the organization of joint research and the attraction of sponsorship funds for research. The universities plan to hold various seminars and conferences and exchange experiences.

The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rustam Karimjanov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United Kingdom Said Rustamov, Adviser to the Minister of Public Education Ulugbek Kasimkhodjaev, R. Everitt and J. Gulyamova from the British Council, Tashkent International University and the University of Portsmouth.

During the video conference, the participants discussed issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom in the field of education, prospects for cooperation between the Tashkent International University of Education and the University of Portsmouth.
