The Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have signed a memorandum on the implementation of a project worth $ 100 million.
The project aims to develop STEM education in schools in grades 7-11.
Maintain and improve existing standards of STEM curricula and textbooks, train and retrain teachers, purchase necessary equipment for schools, renovate school buildings and develop educational technologies.
In addition, the project envisages the improvement of the system of assessment of students' knowledge in schools of Uzbekistan.
The project will be implemented in accordance with the Country Operations Business Plan (COBP) for the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2022, recent government initiatives and the Concept of Development of the Public Education System of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030.
