MINISTRY OF PUBLIC EDUCATION SUPPORTS ACTION IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CRIME

The Minister of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov delivered a speech (in English) at the 14th United Nations Congress on Drug Prevention and Combating Crime in Kyoto, Japan.

In his speech, the Minister briefed the participants on the importance of the work carried out by the Ministry in cooperation with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Central Asia and the results achieved.

In particular, he paid special attention to the implementation of the work done in the framework of the Doha Declaration in 2015 in the public education system of the country. As an example, it was noted that the series "Zorblar" was included in the newly introduced textbooks "Tarbiya" in the education system of Uzbekistan.

At the end of his speech, the Minister thanked Ashita Mittal, Head of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Central Asia, for the many years of fruitful cooperation and offered to further develop relations.

It should be noted that the speech of the Minister of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan was met with great interest by the participants of the Congress. In particular, the UN Resident Coordinator John Brandolino, who chaired the congress, praised the work done in Uzbekistan in this direction.
