The Minister of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov met with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Uzbekistan Mr. Said Matar Al Kezmi.
At the beginning of the meeting, the sides discussed issues of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of public education. The Minister thanked the Ambassador for his support in cooperation in the field of education, in particular, for the successful implementation of the project "One Million Programmers" in schools of Uzbekistan.
The Ambassador, in turn, said he was pleased that many schoolchildren had expressed a desire to participate in the One Million Programmers project. They also shared their impressions of the changes in education in the country in recent years.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the organization of exchange programs between the two countries to exchange experiences. The ambassador spoke about the importance of learning foreign languages, especially English, in order to get a quality education or find a well-paying job. The Minister of Public Education provided detailed information on two major complex programs, English Speaking Nation and IT-Nation.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to increase cooperation in the admission of Uzbek graduates to prestigious universities in the UAE, to organize basic training courses for continuing education.
