The Minister of Public Education Sherzod Shermatov, who returned from Jizzakh yesterday, visited Syrdarya region on 3 August. The Minister is studying the state of preparation of educational institutions of the region for the new school year and the autumn-winter season, the construction of new secondary schools, their creative, construction and repair work.
The first destination was the educational institutions of Khavas district, which began with a tour of the low-quality secondary schools No. 16 and 23 and specialized state secondary schools No. 1 in the region.
During the visit, he inspected the condition of the newly built additional building for school No. 23 and the process of equipping it, sports grounds and the state of preparation for the new school year in school No. 16.
The Minister of Public Education stressed the need to attract skilled teachers from other regions to improve the quality of education in the region and gave recommendations on reducing the number of schools in the red category.
The Minister donated computer equipment and a set of books for the library to the visited schools in Khavas district.
Sherzod Shermatov also took part in a regional training seminar for teachers on "Implementation of the National Curriculum of General Secondary Education in grades 1-2" organized for teachers at the Syrdarya Regional Center for Professional Development.
At the seminar, with the direct participation of the Minister, views were exchanged on the National Curriculum and suggestions of teachers on further development of this program were heard.
